Delmor

Delmor is the name of the RPG game we are currently developing as a project for the University for applied sciences Arnhem and Nijmegen. During 10 weeks we work with a group of around 40 people to build a complete game. Due to limited time we cannot build the entire game, instead we make the first few levels in an open world map.

In this project I'm the Lead Artist that is responsible for all the artwork that is done in the game. During the project my job was to lead and manage the Art Team. The majority of the time I was busy making sure everyone was working while coordinating with all the other teams. For a large majority of the students it was our first project with 40 people working together in different teams. The same majority has never been involved in making a game so we had to come up with a plan from the first day how we would organise ourselves and have nearly complete freedom in managing it as we saw fit. It was a huge challenge and communication with 39 other students can get tough. For me personally it was a huge project with a lot of long rewarding days. After the first few weeks of intense managing I had some hours to make some 3D models myself. But mainly I was busy making sure everyone was working their part of the game, having meetings nearly everyday.

Our team had the job to make all the assets, make sure they fit into the game and when they are created they are implemented into the game. Our responsibility is creating every single 3D asset you can find in the game. Characters and NPCs will be made by another team of artists. We also worked on promoting our project on Facebook, instagram and doing real life events. We also worked on the trailer, behind the scenes and the intro cinematic. The images below are made by different artists as a team effort to show our game and our progress to our audience.
